01. A GUIDE TO POSING BETWEEN THE CANID MOMENTS
We focus on capturing candid, natural moments but every now and then, a bit of direction helps smooth out those awkward hands and default peace signs. Here’s a quick guide to help you feel more natural and confident in front of the camera.
WALK / RUN

_edited_edited.jpg)
When doing this pose avoid looking at the camera to make it more natural. Look at each other or around to your surroundings. Have fun with it one & please try to not trip over!

LIFT

To avoid making the lift too stiff and staged practice turning on the spot to add some movement. The person getting lifted can also lift a leg up as seen in images to create more shape.
DIP

Practice dipping your partner in different ways to get a feel of what dip feels most comfortable.
HUG

This one is pretty self explanatory.
SLOW DANCE

Hold each other close and sway from side to side mimicking a slow dance. Get comfortable making eye contact. You can rest your head on your partners shoulder for more variety.
TWIRL PULL IN

Practice spinning your partner on the spot then pull them in close to you for either a hug or a kiss.

02. HELPFUL TIPS
Good Lighting makes all the difference!
Wedding photography is all about capturing the moment, and that requires good lighting. Make sure your locations have a decent amount natural light especially the places in your control. For bride and groom prep, be sure to pick a space in your home that is nicely lit. Avoid choosing rooms with limited windows. If your vision for your wedding photos includes those golden hour shots, be sure to make time at sunset for your location shoot. Picking the middle of the day to get your location photos taken will create harsher images with lots of shadow. Your wedding photographer will appreciate having ample lighting to work with, and it can make a huge difference in the final product. Timing is key!
Prepare your space
Especially at the bride & grooms home Don’t forget to designate a space for your photographer to work in. They’ll need room to move around and capture different angles, so make sure they have plenty of space to work with. Additionally, make sure the space is clean and uncluttered. Your wedding photographer doesn’t want to have to worry about moving clutter out of the way or working around messes in the background.
Clear the aisle for the perfect shot
Your ceremony is one of the most emotional parts of the day, and you don’t want those moments blocked by guests leaning into the aisle with phones and cameras. Make sure to let your guests know ahead of time, whether through your celebrant or a simple sign that the aisle should stay clear once the ceremony begins. This gives your photographer a clean view to capture those key moments like the walk down the aisle and your first kiss. A little planning goes a long way, and it makes a huge difference in your final photos!
Hold that kiss just a little longer
Your first kiss is one of the most iconic moments of the day, and it happens fast. By pausing for a few extra seconds, you give your photographer the chance to capture multiple angles and ensure nothing gets missed. A quick peck can be easy to miss or blocked, but a longer kiss creates a more natural, romantic moment on camera. Don’t rush it, soak it in and enjoy it!
